Aware is a 501c3 non-profit organization with no paid employees. All of the funds collected through program fees and donations goes to providing the things we need to care for the animals in education and rehab.
Volunteers are the driving force behind everything we do. It is truly a labor of love.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Rehabilitators: We will provide training, basic supplies, and support for you to get started.
Transporters: There are times when someone finds an animal in need of help, but can't bring it to a rehabilitator. If you can help by picking it up and transporting it to a rehabber or vet's office, that would be helpful. If interested, please fill out our Wildlife Transport Volunteer Form
Educators: We do many programs throughout the year for all different ages and organizations. There are times when we could use an extra hand. If you think that you would be interested in helping with education, please give us a call. We would be happy to talk to you about the different ways you can help with programs.
Eagle Scouts: We always have a need for pens and caging for wildlife. We work with Eagle Scouts on projects quite often. If you need a project and want to help wildlife, give us a call!
Creatives & Crafters: Use your creative abilities to help us with a variety of projects. Our animals in rehab stay cozy in cloth hammocks, pouches, and knitted nests. We can always use games and craft kits for programs.
